Be Traced supporting the Sahara Racing Cup among the spectacular desert dunes

The great Tunisian adventure will start today, Saturday April 32rd, Be Traced will support the organization along a path of 1,600 kilometers


Brescia, April 23rd 2022 - An event made up of skills and orientation tests to be tackled on dirt and sandy stretches. A series of waypoints, points of passage that the competitors have to find and travel to avoid penalties in the ranking. A path that will entirely unfold in the Sahara desert.


Speed ​​will not determine the classification and name the winner of the 2022 edition of the Sahara Racing Cup, but the pilot’s orientation and navigation skills that, considering the constant changes in the desert landscape caused by the wind, will be put to the test.


The great adventure will begin today from the Port of Genova: the cars, all Fiat Panda 4×4 from 1983 to 2022 and off-road vehicles are admitted to the event, will embark to Tunisia, destination that they will reach tomorrow and from which there will be the transfer to Hammamet for the initial briefing.


The raid will be made up of six stages of progressive difficulty and very different one from the other: the first one, which will launch the real challenge, will take place on Monday, April 25th when the crews will move from Hammamet to the south in the Douz area to reach the Zmela camp. From here, the crews will leave and return after playing on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th April stage 2 and stage 3.


After leaving Zmela’s camp on Thursday 28th, the fourth stage will start towards the second base camp set up in Tembaine. The stage on Friday 29th includes a route of over 500 km through spectacular dunes and the return to the camp of Tembaine for the last night in the desert. The following day, Saturday 30th, running along the Jebil Park the crews will carry out the final stage reaching the hotel in Douz where the closing ceremony will take place. On Sunday, May 1st there will be the boarding from Tunis to return to Italy.



During the five days of the event, all the crews will use a navigator to track and will be equipped with the Be Traced tracking device, essential for the acquisition and recording of data with the triple function of:

  • real-time tracking of all participating vehicles

  • verification of any deviations from the route

  • waypoint check




At the disposal of the event Director there will be the Be Traced Web platform for the consultation of data and tracks traveled by each competitor that will allow him to apply penalties in case of any violations and to determine the ranking on the basis of the obtained scores.

Among the various features made available by the platform: receiving SOS requests from competitors, historical display of the routes and detailed reports.


The access to the Web platform will not only be reserved for the event Director, it will also be available to the public who can access the Public Platform from any device, smartphone, tablet and PC and enjoy every moment of the event among the desert dunes.

The Sahara Racing Cup is a raid that takes place in Tunisia with the Fiat Panda 4x4. It is a playful event with evaluative tests of skill and non-competitive orientation, to travel on different sectors on dirt and sandy stretches. Orientation is the determining factor of the ranking. Speed has no merit parameter on the rankings.
