A weeekend of major events for Be Traced: after regularity races, comes rallying.

Brescia, April 16, 2025 – Last weekend wasn’t just about the great regularity classics: Be Traced was also on the ground supporting three major rally events. In addition to the XVI Coppa Milano-Sanremo and the first edition of the 1000 Miglia Experience Italy, our tracking solutions supported the organization and race control teams of the Rally Regione Piemonte (Rally Alba), the Rally Costa Smeralda, and the Rally Paganella.

The Rally Regione Piemonte

The Rally Regione Piemonte, the second round of the CIAR Sparco after Il Ciocco and the first round of CRZ Zone 1, recorded a total of 158 entries, confirming once again its place among the most anticipated stages of the Italian championship—also thanks to its usual international turnout, with competitors from 12 different countries.

It was an adrenaline-filled event with strong emotional ties to rally history. Indeed, a name that warms the hearts of many enthusiasts made a comeback: HF. That’s right—Lancia returns to rally competitions, presenting a preview of 8 units of the brand-new Lancia Ypsilon HF in the Rally4 category. The official debut is set for May, during the Targa Florio Rally, where the Lancia Ypsilon Trophy will be launched.

The event kicked off on the evening of April 11 from Alba, the rally’s central hub. A total of 112.8 km of special stages were tackled by CIAR Sparco competitors, while CRZ participants drove 69.84 km. Including liaison sections, the total route stretched over 495.7 km across the Langhe region—an outstanding Italian landscape and UNESCO World Heritage site that served as a truly remarkable backdrop for the event.

The International Historic Rally "Costa Smeralda"

Speaking of breathtaking scenery, the rally weekend continued with the 8th edition of the International Historic Rally Costa Smeralda, another fan-favorite event steeped in motorsport heritage. Among the presenters was none other than Miki Biasion, two-time world champion (1988 and 1989) and winner of the 1983 Costa Smeralda driving the legendary 037.

Just like Rally Alba, this was an emotional journey through some of the most stunning coastal landscapes in Italy. Porto Cervo served as the main hub of the rally, which began at noon on Saturday, April 11. From there, drivers completed a total of 142.3 timed kilometers, and with liaison stages included, the total distance exceeded 560 km. The event was split into two legs: the first featured three brand-new special stages—“Aratena,” “Monti,” and “Alà dei Sardi”—while the second brought back three classics: “Lu Colbu”, “Aglientu” and “Luogosanto”.

Two intense days, full of plot twists and last-second battles, were enriched by several satellite events that added even more prestige to an already iconic rally. The Costa Smeralda gave competitors and enthusiasts a full weekend of historic motorsport, with the presence of legendary cars and personalities from the international rally scene.

The Rally Paganella

Our rally weekend concluded with the Rally Paganella, held in a setting dramatically different from both the Langhe and Sardinia’s crystal-clear coastline: we moved to Andalo, in the province of Trento, nestled at the foot of the Dolomites.

During the event, competitors drove 65.26 timed kilometers, for a total of 224.82 km including liaison stages. Now in its second edition, the Rally Paganella registered 103 participants with a mix of classic and modern rally cars. Valid for CRZ Zone 4, this year’s rally thrilled both drivers and spectators with 7 special stages winding through the twisting mountain roads surrounding the popular ski resort. Without a doubt, it was a valuable addition to the area’s offerings, further enhancing its winter tourism appeal with a motorsport weekend.

With this, what has so far been the busiest event weekend for Be Traced came to an end. As always, we provided our tracking solutions to support each competition, offering an extra level of safety for participants and contributing to smoother event management.

Thanks to tenth-of-a-second precision tracking during the Special Stages provided by our devices, we delivered maximum accuracy to marshals and officials for ranking and scoring at each rally.

Enjoy the race!
