Brescia, 23rd January 2025 – Given the huge success of previous editions, Be Traced and Vecars are once again teaming up for the Winter Marathon. The 37th edition of this renowned event will kick off, as per tradition, in Piazza Righi, Madonna di Campiglio.
The Winter Marathon
The Winter Marathon 2025 will take place from January 23 to 26 and promises the longest route in its history. Vecars has designed a new course spanning over 540 kilometers, divided into two stages. The route will cross 14 Dolomite mountain passes and demand a total of 17 hours of driving from participants, all behind the wheels of classic cars built to brave the cold.
A total of 132 teams will join this edition, representing 17 automotive brands and hailing from 8 different nations. The event is reserved to vehicles manufactured up to 1976; in addition, a limited number of youngtimers produced between 1977 and 1992 will join the race. To support all teams and the 15 assistance crews, Be Traced will provide approximately 180 tracking devices.
In addition to 65 time trials, competitors will face six average speed tests, with a total of 22 secret checkpoints monitored by the Be Traced GPS technology. For the sixth consecutive year, Be Traced will assist the event organizers throughout the competition. The time stamps collected will be used by FICR technicians to compile rankings and accurately determine the winners.
The first stage, covering 110 kilometers, will begin at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 23. Drivers will descend toward Ponte di Legno via the scenic Tonale Pass. Upon arrival, a checkpoint will be held in Piazza XXVII Settembre before the nighttime return to Madonna di Campiglio, starting at 11:30 PM and completing the first loop.
The second stage will begin at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 24. This leg will take participants through some of the most iconic mountain passes in Trentino-Alto Adige, covering a total of 430 kilometers. Starting once again from Piazza Righi, the cars will make their way to Bolzano before returning to Madonna di Campiglio after midnight, completing the second loop. On Saturday, January 25, starting at 12:30 PM, the traditional frozen lake trophies will take place, as in previous editions.
Be Traced to the support
Throughout the event, Be Traced will provide real-time tracking of every car, with updates every second. Additionally, thanks to Be Traced devices, each team can send an instant SOS in case of emergencies, automatically notifying race officials and support teams of their exact location.
This year, spectators can follow the competition live via a dedicated public platform, tracking each team’s progress on the map in real-time. Lastly, stay connected with Be Traced on major social media platforms for updates on this and other events we participate in.
Enjoy the Race!
