Jeddah, December 29, 2021 – The countdown to the 44th edition of one of the most famous and popular rallies is almost over. The start of the Dakar will begin in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday 1 January 2022 and will end on 14 January, after a distance of 8.375 km, of which 4.258 will be special tests. In parallel to cars, motorcycles, trucks, quads and Side by Side, historic vehicles will also participate for the second year in the Classic category, based not on speed but on regularity.

14 days, 12 stages, just one day of rest.

In the first part of the rally, the participants will immediately face a very demanding route in the desert that will lead them to the capital, Riyadh, where the only day of rest is scheduled on 8 January. After that, the second week of competition will begin with the passage from Al Dawadimi, Wadi Ad-Dawasir, Bisha and the return to Jeddah.

Among the minority of women at the wheel, Rebecca Busi will also be involved in this adventure in the Classic category. She is the youngest Italian driver in the history of the Dakar rally, deciding at the age of 25 to test herself and challenge the Saudi Arabian desert aboard a Range Rover 3900, next to the her co-driver and expert mechanic Roberto Musi.

Graduated in Economics and Management and currently enrolled in the EAE Business School for a Master in International Business in Barcelona, Rebecca has always been passionate about engines: she followed her father in motorcycle rallies around Italy and Egypt, she joined several rallies as a co-driver and she is determined to turn this passion into a profession.

A passion for speed inherited from his father and a dream that comes true for both of them, Roberto Busi will also be present at the event, at the wheel of the assistance car that will follow the convoy.

Be Traced among the sponsors

Be Traced, as sponsor, will be with Rebecca in her first experience as a driver in a race that requires a lot of experience and preparation, a difficult race that involves seven hours of driving a day for two weeks, a race that she defines a gamble in which the mystery is more than the certainty, but which is ready to face.
