Brescia, April 16, 2025 - The weekend just past did not only feature the great regularity classics: Be Traced also took the field alongside three important rally events. In addition to the XVI Coppa Milano-Sanremo and the first edition of the 1000 Miglia Experience Italy, our tracking solutions accompanied the organization and race directions of the Rally Regione Piemonte (Rally Alba), the Rally Costa Smeralda and the Rally Paganella.
Rally Alba - Piedmont Region
The Rally Piedmont Region, the second stage of the CIAR Sparco after Il Ciocco and the first stage of CRZ 1, registered a total of 158 entries, confirming once again that it is one of the most eagerly awaited stages of the Italian championship and not only, given the usual participation of foreign crews, representing as many as 12 nations.
It was an event full of adrenaline and great emotions related to the past, in fact, for the occasion an acronym that warms the hearts of many fans: HF. Well, yes, Lancia is returning to rally competition, previewing 8 examples of the newborn Lancia Ypsilon HF, in the Rally4 category. However, the real debut will take place in May, at the Rally Targa Florio, at which the Lancia Ypsilon Trophy will be presented.
As scheduled, the start took place on the evening of April 11 from Alba, the nerve center of the rally: a total of 112.8 km of special stages engaged the crews entered in the CIAR Sparco, while 69.84 km were covered by the CRZ. Including transfers, the crews covered 495.7 km through the territory of the Langhe, another great Italian excellence as well as a UNESCO heritage site that certainly gave a noteworthy scenery to the event.
Rally Emerald Coast Historical International
Speaking of breathtaking scenery, the race weekend continued with the eighth edition of the Rally Internazionale Storico Costa Smeralda, another highly anticipated stage for fans and rich in motoring history. Among the presenters, Miki Biasion, two-time world champion in ’88 and ’89 as well as winner of the 1983 Costa Smeralda with the legendary 037, also peeped in.
Again, as with the Rally Alba, this was an event filled with excitement through what many consider to be some of the best seascapes in the country. Porto Cervo was the nerve center of the event, which took place starting at noon on Saturday the 11th. From here, drivers covered a total of 142.3 timed kilometers, which, when added to the transfers, raised the total distance to more than 560 kilometers. The event was divided into two stages: in the first, three brand new special stages “Aratena”, “Monti” and “Alà dei Sardi”; in the second, three great classics “Lu Colbu”, “Aglientu” and “Luogosanto”.
They were two intense days, full of twists and turns and battles to the last second, crowned by other important static events that acted as “satellites,” adding further prestige to an event that already enjoys a great reputation. The Rally Costa Smeralda gave competitors and fans a weekend dedicated to historic motoring, with the presence of iconic figures and cars in the international rally scene.
Rally Paganella
Concluding our race weekend was the Rally Paganella, held in a setting diametrically opposed to both the Langhe of Piedmont and the crystal-clear Sardinian coast: in fact, we move to Andalo, in the province of Trento, at the foot of the Alps.
A total of 65.26 kilometers were timed during the event, which when added to the transfers resulted in a total distance of 224.82 kilometers.
Although only in its second year, the Rally Paganella recorded 103 entries aboard both great classics and modern cars. Valid for CRZ 4, this year's Paganella entertained its competitors and spectators with 7 special stages, to be run through the winding mountain roads surrounding the well-known ski resort. Undoubtedly an added value to the area, which already boasts a fairly good tourist reputation in the winter period and therefore could not miss a weekend dedicated to motorsport.
This concludes what has been the busiest weekend so far in terms of events for Be Traced. As always, we provided our tracking solutions to support each event, adding an extra layer of security to the deck for competitors and contributing to a more efficient organization of each event.
Thanks to the tenth-of-a-second tracking during the Special Stages provided by our devices, we provided commissioners and regulators with maximum accuracy in measurements to draw up rankings for each event.
